Will you celebrate New Years?

Question

I used to love new years a kid. Staying up late, fireworks, as much sugar as I wanted and we could have champagne 🥂😂

But now it is just meh. I don't have any real friends so I won't go to party's. My boyfriend is working. My family don't care either about it. I usually work new years but I am now got time off so I will sit watch the fireworks, complain how 💩 they are and drink 😂

Dry January isn't happening at all. I am already depressed so let's make me more depressed? I think not 👍😂

Normally I don't. I'm the party pooper according to my wife and kids. They stay up with champagne and sparkling cider and watch the ball drop in New York City and so on. I go to bed.

This year, though, I got my wife and I a hotel room and we're going to have date night and a great meal and some time together without the kids.

I celebrate the New Year by eating! We make a lot of handheld snacks and snack throughout the day. We will have a cracker, cheese, and veggie tray with hummus and ranch. And then we will have pizza rolls, egg rolls, potstickers, ham and cream cheese rolls, fried popcorn shrimp, mini tacos, taquitos, steamed Chinese pork buns, mini weenies (little smokie sausages wrapped in crescent rolls), and any other appetizer type thing that looks good when we go to buy the stuff for New Years each year.

We will all stay up and watch the ball drop in New York and then we all drink our sparkling apple cider since none of us drink alcohol.

To me, it's just another day, only I have a long weekend off from work.

I will go to bed whenever I'm tired, and not try to stay up late (unless I just happen to be up late playing video games), and bring in the new year watching old Twilight Zone reruns. New year, same old song, lol. I'm not making any definitive resolutions because we all know how that goes for most people-

For New Year's, I want to commemorate people like you. The people who never give up even when they are at their limits. I understand because I was in that position for years, and it felt endless.

I kept fighting, and I made it to a good place in life. And I want to see others be successful too. I know everyone can't be saved, but I will always commemorate the hard work and effort people put into themselves despite the odds.

I would have ended my life and never made it to the good times I am in now. So I commemorate you and encourage you to keep trying and never give up.

Honestly I don't see the point.
Plus I find it funny when acquaintances or friends of mine basically freak out when they find out i slept before ten.
Which is ironic cause every other day of the year I'm always up past midnight, either writing poetry or gaming or watching something.

I live on the West Coast. My wife and I watch the ball drop in New York at 9 PM our time. Then we go to bed. Sure, we’re up till midnight, we’re in bed! Use your imagination…

Yes, at home with lots of friends, and with their keys locked up till the breathalyzer says they are fit to drive. Otherwise they can just crash there. I have the room.
