Has going out in fancy dress on NYE ever been a tradition where you are?

It used to be here in the UK around 30 years ago, but sadly its gradually died out over the years

there's been a few traditions... including this one you mention, going all fancy and dressed up... there were other celebrations which were much more casual... and some smaller ones that are the most comfortable

and then the ones... in which there's none to dress... or it's pretty much optional, lol

I went to the Fishguard Street party. It's ranked as one of the top uk new year parties but I can't remember seeing anyone in fancy dress.

then again I can't remember much other than huddling together like penguins to keep warm.

Yeah in the city I'm in it's very common for you to see people dressed up out at new years parties.
