Do you prefer white or colored Christmas lights?

Depends. Exterior, I like “warm white.” On the tree, I like colored lights. I especially like the kind of kitschy ones with the big fat bulbs, haha. But I usually use the regular sized ones. I have a string of normal ones I put around the tree, but before I do anything, I wrap the tree trunk with a string of twinkling lights, and that gives a cool effect, especially when it gets prism’d through these clear ornaments I hang that look like little diamonds.

Coloured lights. That's what we always had growing up and the tree has to be green. I don't like pink, yellow, purple, black, red or white Christmas trees.

I like the kind of decorations that mean something. Like our trees at home had bobbles with pictures and other stuff we made at school. White Christmas lights or yellow make it look like it's a hotel lobby

When I was younger I always had multi colored Christmas lights that had different blinking settings. As I got older I love the simplicity of white Christmas lights on a tree to symbolize a snowey white Christmas tree.

White lights look prettier, but multi-colored lights feel more like Christmas to me.

Why do the lights have to be segregated?

White lights and colored lights can get along just fine on the same tree.

The bulbs might be different colors, but deep down it's all the same wiring.

I like coloured lights, but mum and dad like the white ones, because "they're not tacky". Personally, I think Christmas is the one time of year it's OK to be tacky. I'd say it's almost compulsory...
