Trump supporters, did you ever sever ties with anyone who voted for Biden in 2020?

My niece severed ties with her parents after they voted for Trump this election (they voted for Biden in 2020). They previously had a good relationship, but she won't even speak with them now. She actually called the police when her mother came to her apartment and knocked on the door. She didn't even answer the door, just called the police.

I don't get it. Why have liberals become so entitled that they will destroy family relationships when someone doesn't vote the way they think they should?

My parents didn't try to sever ties with me when they found out I voted for Biden, in fact they tried to not change anything—just ignore it as if it didn't matter at all. It's hard to be close to someone who refuses to speak about something that you both care about and disagree on, and that actively effects your lives. It's like walking on eggshells to avoid saying something that will make them upset or shut down the whole conversation...

I agree with you 100%, and I admire your attitude about your differences with your family.

And your parents were wise to not give you a hard time for voting for Biden. They know you're young and idealistic and they don't want to squelch your desire to think for yourself and form your own opinions.

All very healthy. Family is the most important things in life, and letting political differences get in the way is short sighted. Kudos to you and your parents!

Thank you, but I ended up having to sever ties with them later for different/more serious reasons. I'm still close with my dad & one sister, but since I've had a child of my own I had to make the decision to protect her. Family is very important, but there's a line where it's more harmful than good to keep certain relationships unfortunately... I hope that they will get better but I can't try to help with that anymore.

nope. it's almost always the other way around, and part of the reason is that the liberal agenda is TRYING to cause this division. Their attack on traditional families is very real, and when people are brainwashed with that much hatred, sometimes they take action and end relationships with those who don't agree with them.

No, but my only friend, a liberal, stopped talking to me in early 2017 when Trump took office. I, want to be friends, but he can't take it that I'm conservative. Liberals claim to be open-minded but it's just the opposite. They're close-minded and we conservatives are more open-minded.
