Anyone else not excited about new years eve?

where i live there isn't really much going on and i don't know of any private house parties i could go to instead. so really not very excited about it , i saw some bars in another nearby city are open but they wanted $50 just for a ticket to get in the door

I got hurt a while ago, so I will probably be home most of the day - there's a friend's party in the afternoon, but I'll probably be leaving early - night driving is tricky for me, especially with the holiday lights flickering everywhere. I doubt I'll really watch "Dick Clarks" on tv much - the music usually isn't my thing anymore. Seem's like it's gone ALL Hip Hop (or pop stars I've never heard of)

I MAY do some sort of countdown off the computer, or throw on an old movie. Maybe something with a good New Years scene or something... The Apartment (1960; Jack Lemmon, Shirley MacLaine, Fred MacMurray), Ghostbusters 2... or maybe something like Four Rooms ('95).

It's just another day, no biggie. I usually just stay up late to text everyone Happy New Year or get their texts first. And that's about it.

i know last few here have been lame , were 2 ( 2021 and 2022 ) that were covid years and like nothing even open here , i can't even remember what i did 2020 ? if anything

2023 i recall going to a local pub and it was kind of busy , didn't even go out last year though

around 2015 i recall going to this local bar in another nearby town , it wasn't even that busy for new years and rather lame really , that bar closed down shortly after and someone tried to turn it into a nightclub then it too closed down around 2017 now its an art gallery of all things not even a bar in that town anymore really

i can't even remember what i did 2016, 17 , 18 and 19 new years , can't be very memorable if i cannot even remember anything , sometimes winter weather bad here so i don't go out some nights

note when i've asked that pub about new years they've always told me there wasn't much going on downtown here and often they wouldn't even be that busy for it

always said people here more went to private house parties but i never know where those are and not being invited wouldn't feel comfortable showing up anyways

I don't really do any of the things that most people do to celebrate new years. Its just another day to me. I'm not excited, nor dissapointed.

I've just been staying at home with my family.

It's nice not having to get dressed up and stay up late.
