Buying a British flag in France? That seems odd knowing that you are British. Why not buy your flag in your home country rather than abroad?
Anyway, I do presume that you will find the one or the other person flirting. I guess it is not that uncommon even though it is not something I would personally ever do with anyone. Flirting, by definition is:
"a sexual behavior involving spoken or written communication, as well as body language, by one person to another, to suggest interest in a deeper relationship with the other person".
That must have been a girl with very little morals and no self-esteem. One does not flirt without having intentions and that is uncalled for, in particular if you are accompanied by your partner. That is a terrible insult to him/her.
My ex (the second one) was half french, she flirted for a couple of months not that I paid any attention to it
She was massively out of my league so I expected it to be a joke even when my colleagues said about it
