What's your New Year's Resolution?

Mine is that I will make a New Year's Resolution next year for 2026.

I have two of them

1. To take control of my potty mouth. Every once in a while a swear word pops out of my mouth and I don't like that about me.

2. Not to talk about me going to heaven and leaving the earth 🌍

It's not all the time just every now and then.
I was reading an article which said that if you are going to use a swear word than use it! Because it gets your bad emotions out of you.
For instance don't say "Fudge" when you want to say, well, you know.
Don't say "shoot" when you want to say 💩.
But never use the Lord's Name in vain.

The reason why I always end up with younger guys is because I have been told many times that I don't look my age, and that I look to be around 50ish. So naturally younger guys would hit on me right?
I don't have any gray hair and no wrinkles either. YAY!
My son who is 47 looks like a teenager.

A little hint. I haven't even been to a doctor in 17 years. I must have been to a thousand doctors taking care of my parents during that time but not once for myself. It might not be smart, but I'm in better shape than almost everyone else I know my age.

I plan to live forever.

The reason why I asked you that is because I need to be around for as long as possible for my son. I am afraid of what would happen to him if he didn't have me in his life anymore.
He has special needs so he needs me unlike a son who doesn't have special needs.

Outside of my immediate family my closest relatives (close meaning I've had the most relationships and contact with them in my life out of the entire extended family) are my mother's sister's family who lived several miles from where I grew up. So it was my aunt's family.

My cousin, my aunt's daughter, had severe mental retardation from complications at birth (that's what they used to call it I know it's not the term they use now, but I haven't kept up so I don't know what it is).

My aunt dedicated her whole life to her daughter. She also had a younger son who to this day is like a brother to me. We grew up together.

My grandmother, my mother's and aunt's mother, also dedicated a tremendous amount of her time to the cause of helping people like my aunt's daughter. She became the president of a large chapter of a major organization that does work for such people and created many projects to raise money for the organization really helping put it on the map. As kids, we chipped in by donating our time to that effort. Pretty much the whole family was involved.

Sadly, about 4 years ago my aunt's daughter, my cousin passed away in her early seventies. Ironically, my aunt is still alive at 100 years old. But if there is any silver lining about suffering from dementia it would be this. By the time my cousin passed away my aunt was unable to understand the loss. God works in mysterious ways.
