Someone sent me this text, which was written on ex-Twitter, and it made me laugh. Even though the text deserves some nuance.

not annoyed... but it would make me chuckle because it is funny about how selective it is as to how far in time one should go in order to justify something today

if you back in time long enough... then you realize a lot of these things said are based either on African roots, Middle East roots and elsewhere... the true origins are not European

just to mention one example... the Black Plague... when Europe got decimated by it, they were told by others "just take a damned shower daily and stop living in your filth" and they survived the black plague... lol

Who's the nationalist asshole who wrote that? While some of that is technically true, we built our own image and culture. We march to the beat of our own drummer, and it's Europeans who copy us.

The only thing I can agree on, is people making comments about other countries' politics. That goes for everyone all ways.

No, it doesn't annoy me.

It was obviously posted in response to something else that was said, and given that the original message was apparently from a MAGA, there's a good chance I would have disagreed, anyway.

I don't fault this person for responding out of what is obviously anger to what was probably a very rude/judgmental post to begin with. Unlike some of my neighbors, I don't have any sort of irrational hatred towards Europeans.

U. S. culture stems heavily from European traditions (English language, legal systems) but incorporates vast influences from global immigration, creating a distinct multicultural identity.

In essence, think of the U. S. as a large, culturally rich country that grew out of European heritage but became its own unique place, not simply a part of Europe.
