Some of the wives take to this kind of relationship because their husband's are not able to sexually satisfy them. In old Indian story of Mahabharat, Pandavas – five brothers - had married to one girl – Draupadi and they were sharing rights of husband one by one for specific period, and all of them had a child with Draupadi. I am not in support of this kind of relationship at all. For me it is against our social and cultural traditions. Marriage is total commitment from both – husband and wife for each other, and no third person is allowed in it.

Theoritically, it might hurt nobody but practically there isn't the slighest chance of success. There's more to marriage than just unlimited sex how could someone play husband if that someone easily lets go of the butterfly who came back to him a long time a go.
