What are your views about divorce?

My wife and I had a conversation about this over a decade ago.
I told her that I didn't want us to be people who cheat on each other, or hate one another. That we only get one life and there's no sense to spend 50+ years hating it. That if she wasn't happy then she should leave and go be happy because I want her to be happy.

It's great when you marry the right person, not all of us do though. It happens. There's no sense in spending decades being miserable due to what others consider moral.

My parents hated one another, I had a misseriable childhood listening to them argue all the time, but, they couldn't afford to get a divorce. I think the government should subsidize couples who want to split up, and ban all future marriage and cohabitation.

I think dating is for when you choose if your going to leave or not. But my word means something so if I said in sickness and health for richer or poorer I'd mean it. I'm ride or die (shouldn't that saying be ride and die?). But that's why I'm not married.

I'd divorce any woman who wears a ski hat indoors. No, just kidding. I think its a last resort if you can't make it work, but... for too many people, they shouldn't have got married in the first place, so it's a logical conclusion to a bad choice.

Well considering you said til death then I would say they either need to reword that part or stop having divorces. I have never been married simply because I haven't found someone that can deal with me for a year much less a life time.

Good and bad. Good specially for the women because it's usually the man is an ass. Bad for the man because no one will look after him :P

Should of been smarter with picking a partner. Shit happens so it's sometimes necessary but really shouldn't be any reason for it to happen more than once. Also better to get divorced than to be hopeless relationship for the sake of others

I'm against it. However if the relationship is toxic or abusive then they must divorce and go their separate way.

But in the end only the kids are the real victim of any divorce.

I got divorced after 23 years. My now ex was not total open to me about her past and it had an impact on our relationship. She had sex with her father for many years and was raped at least once. Message me for more info.

As a child of divorce my main observation is a large number of divorced (including my parents) are couples who married young and fast.

Well since I'm going through one now I can tell you that it sucks even though she was in a abusive loud controlling person the kids and I are having a very rough time dealing with it
