I bet they've been living as roommates and coworkers for years, maybe even each having affairs on the side.
Quarantining with a partner is a pressure cooker. If you don't have the skills, it becomes apparent and now that retirement is near, people often ask themselves how they want to live the rest of their life. For two people where work was the only glue, sometimes it isn't enough.
Especially when couples approach retirement, one can still have this whole business to 'hobby' and the other partner is like, for 25 years I put my life on hold for you and now you don't even want to enjoy retirement together. What's the point of having money, if the person you love doesn't want to take vacation with you, sit on the couch and watch movies with you, take the time to plan fun dates or make you laugh? I'm sure they are both guilty of working overtime and choosing work over family, slowly, one holiday at a time.
Men are quick to judge women for leaving with 'half the money' and first) women don't get half the money, the court and banks and lawyers take a third and then the broken couple gets what's left
2) ask yourself how much is your life worth? Because for 25 years, many a ex wife have been letting someone else call the shots, someone else gets the dream career, someone else tells you that dressing a certain way isn't up to their brand or any friends you've made is because of the circumstances of your partners.
I don't blame them one bit. When you have all the money in the world, you can easily expect more from a partner. You can very easily find someone willing to spoil you in time, attention and support.00 Reply

money and power corrupts people. so it may seem as though bill gates has better chances of actually maintaining his relationship. though actually, the average joe has better chances. you see that in many high profile people like COEs and upper management.

oh. yeah so what are you gonna do about it? it's not like you have any power or something xD western societies aren't representative democracies. they are representative plutocraties, meaning whoever has the money has the power. not the people. the people have no power. there's just votes for the sole purpose of suggesting that there is a democracy and to shut people up by making them feel as if they had power, when they had none.

I personally don’t have any thoughts about that. It doesn’t effect my daily life in the slightest. I wish them best of luck of it being respectful and fair

Nope. Our personalities are different, our personal lifestyles are different, views, etc.
I’d be more effected if my brother who shares more personal traits as me was facing a marriage problem.

She gets half of everything that he earned and now she can do what she wants with it. The system is rigged to encourage divorce in those types of situations
