"He's a good husband to her so he'll be a good husband to me" even though she should really think more along the lines of, "If he'll cheat on her and leave her, he'll cheat on me and leave me" which makes him not a good husband at all lol

Yes, the reason is because of value women want a guy that other women want and other guys want to be. The fact that someone is married is a clear indication that they must have something of value for a woman to marry him compared to a single man they would think "he must be single for a reason" or assume something is wrong with him. There is a saying
"Women will judge a man that lives at home with his parents but are quick to jump in bed with a man that lives with his wife.

As a married man I can safely say that for the most part no. Usually women who see the ring actually keep their distance.
