Trust above all. This is why so few marriages endure. If you trust the other person it ISN'T hard to put them before you because you know the trust and love you give you'll get back three-fold.
I tell couples what's most important is no matter how hectic life gets ALWAYS make time for date nights. You WILL change over time think about it. Are you the same person you were a year,2 years, 5 years, 10 years ago? No! Why would you think that stops when you get married. But if you grow and change together your relationship CAN endure. Don't do this and you can and probably will grow apart apart.

First it takes two people that have similar values and beliefs about topics like kids, money, parents, home and even retirement. Just having a physical attraction is not enough. Then it takes a lot of work and the belief that it is worth it.
