Personally I think 20% of the women are marriage material if not less, I also feel like that percentage is going to shrink as time goes by, men I feel like maybe it's like twice less than that, like 10% maybe, would you say you are part of that 20% or that 10% ?

I've been married happily going towards 12 years now so I seem to be okay at the marriage thing. That said, my wife and I are so compatible with each other.

I don't think I ever saw myself as "marriage material" though. I valued marriage and monogamy yet I'm also a fun-loving maniac with a love of thrills, partying, and dangerous sports. Recklessness and impulsiveness are fundamental character traits I've never been able to fully tame.

So I don't exactly conform to the image of a married man. I figured only a very unusual type of adventurous woman would ever want to take the gamble of marrying me, and my wife is definitely unusual that way. She's my lifelong partner in adventure and fun.

I do have a nice career and was able to purchase my own humble house without a mortgage. I'm at least fairly responsible about my education and career. Yet I'm not very responsible at all when it comes to my own well-being and safety; I'm a borderline lunatic there with a love of risk-taking.

Most marriages fail because of financial reasons, and that people get married too young to be mature enough to make a real and lasting commitment. Why do you only blame the woman for failed marriage statistics? Honestly, like there isn't any reason to get married unless you want to, so divorced people really have no one to blame but themselves. Stupid.

I feel like money is number two in the failed marriages because people cheat or don't take commitment seriously because there's many women and men that are separately financially stable but have been through divorces, which shows that money isn't the issue, now don't get me wrong, there can be many people that chase the money and get married for money but that just shows that whoever is doing that, isn't marriage material, I doubt that the biggest problem in divorces is a financial problem

I do not know what men consider as “marriage material”. Every man has his own preference.

I’m honest, faithful, caring, compassionate and put work into my relationships. I do not want my life or my partner’s to revolve around each other’s. I simply want to share my life with someone who has the same views as me and wants to love and to be loved. I’d like kids in the future, preferably 2(of course, I’m aware that not everyone wants kids of their own and kids≠happy marriage, but I’d like to have kids with the man I love). I want someone I can grow old with. I want someone I can talk to about anything without any hesitation.. a best friend.

@boredguy007 First off, I am very picky in all areas. I like complex guys, and some people are just more simple in nature. Even though I respect that, it will make me bored in the long run if he can't challenge my mind and it's a one-sided thing. There's also the basic stuff such as compatibility, which I of course don't have with every man out there. But once all the requirements are in place, I'm a very loving girlfriend that aims to please and improve in every corner of a man's mind.
