Would you marry someone for citizenship?

What If someone who isn't the citizen of your country and you met them online and became close would you marry the guy/girl if they propose you and want to move to your country?


Or what if a person you like and met online says that he wants the citizenship and he -she wants to marry you to get it.

And you have a very serious liking for the person would you go for it knowing there is a chance you partner will fall in love with you risky but love is love.

Not in all countries you can marry for citizenship.

Mayhe I would marry after I get to know the person and I know they love me. And if I trust them, which will not come quickly.

But first of all, I will offer to help them otherwise, finding a job etc, but not marry... marriage is sacred to me.

I actually have a close cousin who might have known her first husband from China or Japan had married for citizenship... we speculate but they had a child together. It is kind of sad for the child, though I think the child is alright and I'm glad his fat takes an active part of rearing him.

At least where I live, sponsoring someone's application means you're on the hook for the cost of the services for 5 years, regardless if you're together or end up splitting.

Also for me, my ex-fiancé tried to illegally immigrate. It wasn't romantic, he lied about being ready for it and did nothing to get ready for it. While deliberately hiding it from me for months to years. While I also got him info for immigration consultants.

I don't think there is a country I would need to do that to live in. So no marriage would never be primarly about citizensship. I rather go the work route for that even if it's longer.

I am married now. she was from Mexico and I am American. i tried to find her but many people that are in America illegally have to assume another persons identity. the name she gave me was probably not even her real name. i got a letter a few years later that might have been from her but i dont know. it was in Spanish. i called the number provided but a man answered and only spoke Spanish.
