It's a lot more accepted now than it was in the past. My wife and I waited though. For a variety of reasons though, many people would be a lot better off if they waited. They might say "we need to find out if we're compatible", but that's a defeating mentality. They're putting limits on what they are willing to put into the relationship.

A lot of people might also say that waiting until marriage for sex is outdated, but why does that matter?
