So, first thing first. Don't get distressed over this. That will just stress out your friend as her big day approaches. It is her day after all. Being that it is her day, it should be her decision what colour she wants her bridesmaids to wear.

Would you let someone choose anything at your wedding? I certainly would not. I just recently got married. Colours of dresses, place settings, etc were not up for discussion other than between me and my (now) husband.

You are there to support her and make this day special for her. Then, when it is your turn some day, she will do the same (hopefully). Just go with what she wants and try not to turn it into a controversy. That is going to get you both nowhere very quick.
