The white dress is meant to show purity! Something which very few brides have now.
Besides why should not our dresses be in a beautiful array of colors the guys suits get to be which ever color we choose for them.
The option I wish you included, let everyone choose what they want for themselves and not confine to societal norms
Before wedding gowns became white for the longest time they were black (from a video I watched ages ago)
In Indian culture for instance red is the colour the brides wear but you can see from the celebrity marriages and those on instagram how different brides choose the colour they wanna get married in
Tons of other cultures have always done very elaborate multi-colored wedding dresses. India has some spectacular ones for example. Regardless of symbolism, isn't it just more fun to have a pretty dress instead of a concealing frumpy white mess?
Many people were up to stay with tradition, which is what we did. If a bride wanted a different color, that's certainly not be looked down upon. Some thing that I would consider important is that the bride have a different color dress, then for attendees, just to signify that it's her day of importance more so than the other ladies.
The bride can wear whatever she wants, it's her day and she is the center of attention. She should be aware, though, that traditionalists might comment if it's not white.

She should wear white, otherwise how will they be able to tell which one is the bride if you actually know her and you're a guest that came with the person who does know her?

This is just me you don't hafta agree but i think white (and ivory) is just more pretty for weddings, i think and bright colored wedding dress would remind me more of prom or something, althought the pic is supa pretty
