Well if that's why they are wearing it then by that reasoning yes it would be rather hypocritical for them to wear white. That said the original reason for it was to show off wealth as white was a color for the rich (historically it was hard to maintain the color and so you had to be rich to afford white clothing because it was nearly impossible to maintain and if you worked it would get stained very quickly).

Thats actually a valid point.
You can either just wear white like for tradition, or you could chose to wear another colour, to make it seem more appropriate
For many traditions the true intent becomes outdated, yet people still carry it on. If people want to continue to wear white simply for the sake of tradition, who cares? It's nice that it's becoming a bit more accepted to wear other colors just for the fun of it though. Everybody should have the option to do what makes them happy since it's a choice that harms no one.
Meh, they should wear what they want, who cares if it's a white dress or a coloured dress or even if she wears a dress at all. All that matters really is that the couple enjoy their day, symbolism is pointless.
Actually a white wedding dress means happiness and turning over a new leaf - the 1st meaning. Blue was considered purity back in the Renaissance period, the color white replaced this meaning in modern times.

I guess most people still enjoy dressing up and pretending to be "pure" without having to exercise the discipline of actually being pure. The wedding is a ceremony that has been stolen from Christianity and then perverted by most people.
I mean, if they’re hardcore traditionalist, that’s their choice not to wear pure white for that reason, but who cares? It’s their wedding and whatever makes her feel confident is what counts! Personally, even though I will be virgin, I’m probably going to go for something in a champagne color or ivory. Straight pure white doesn’t bode well with my skin tone XD
Who cares? She can wear whatever she wants. And her husband can wear... Well, whatever she wants him too.
I said yes, but of course changed my mind right after I hit the button. Lol. Anyway, who cares what color the dress is? Black would be a bit weird though, I must say.
Once a symbol of celebration and affluence (since only a woman of means could afford to wear an easily soiled dress just once), the color white now symbolizes purity (read: virginity). If you want to wear a white wedding dress, do it.
Symbology is all well and good, but it's not the overriding concern. In Japan, for instance, it symbolizes death. So don't get hung up on symbology.
Yes because a woman's sexual history is nobody's business than her own and her dates / future spouse.
I don't think that means they should just throw out the tradition entirely.
I do not see why not. To the guy she is marrying, she is as pure as the morning dew.
Bear in mind, too, that many years ago, it was custom to marry in black. There is no law that says only a virgin can wear a white dress.
she should wear whatever the hell she wants. who cares.
Definitely C. What the bride wears should be no ones's business than hers and the groom's.
The color is just a color: whether you use it as the symbol it is commonly used as is up to you.
Well theoretical you are right that only virgins should wear white. But nowaday this would mean that only 10 percent of brides (or less!) would use white dresses. And this would be sad to watch at...
They can wear whatever color dress they want. How is this even a question in the 21st century?
I mean if they want... I really don't think it matters what color you wear as like your dress.
Anyway, a white dress was originally more of a symbol of wealth. I don't think white dresses should only be limited to rich women either.Yes but the white should not stand for virginity but for for the cum of all the dicks they sucked before getting married.
What percentage of dresses would allowed to be white then? What about the second and third time around marriages? Who cares!
Wear whatever you want. There are many nonvirgins getting married all the time.
It’s her day she can wear whatever she likes
