But its been 10 years and I have not found a worthy mate so whether I continue to wait for one or go with IVF, my parents will be lucky to get at least 2. My intentions have always been to conceive in my 20s not my 30s

People themselves cannot choose to have babies. you could die tomorrow, be infertile, have miscarriages, etc etc. It's better to concentrate on making a good household and relationship for each other, with kids being the bonus if they do.
