I do feel some pressure but it is not so much that I couldn't ignore it if I did not want kids, but, I do want kids so I am ok with it. My mom does make remarks sometimes about wanting things to go faster but she is not too pushy about it. Fortunately in my case both families have other possible ways they can get grandchildren so the pressure is not 100% on me but, we are kind of first in line to produce children (I am older than my brother he is older than his sister) so I'd say I get more pressure than the other kids but not overwhelming.
As for me, I super want kids (prob. 2) but even moreso I want everything to be right first which means we are married before I get pregnant and financially in as good shape as possible because there will be a lot of expenses and I will at least take leave from my job if not quit. Sometimes when I see a cute baby I want to steal them lol.
I was in high school, immature. I was a freshmen and he was the hot bad boy. It started there, I was pregnant by 18, graduated at 17. Quit college, got married, had my son, my daughter. Moved to Las Vegas at 22 to work at Mandalay Bay. We had a really happy marriage until 6 months in Las Vegas. We were divorced 3 months later. To date he is the most fun & loyal man I know, a really great dad and man. He did not want the divorce, I was under some spell, is the only way I can describe it.
since I been proposed to a few times and Im not getting younger, but even though I was younge, I lucked out. I got a good one. I haven't met anyone like him since. A best friend, who thinks the way I do. We constantly created surprises, we set out to make it so we could look back at the other and see them smiling to themselves. maybe I will find it one day, or considering poly, then maybe I'd have better odds. 2 girls is fine or any mixture. I just won't eat box. 😘
I feel obligated to, but I'm not going to. People have to think long and hard if that is a life they actually want first and question it. We should normalise having kids being a choice in life, not a step or obligation you have to take. I was 18 or so when I realised I actually didn't want to have children or see it in my future. Now I'm 23 and I still don't see it.
HAHAHA!
Oh, you're being serious?
Absolutely not. Just because I have the capability to have a rugrat doesn't mean I want them.
I wish more people realized that just because we as women can have children, doesn't mean we want to create them.
I'm happy to say I've never had any urge to have kids: growing up, I watched my mom struggle with us, then my sister struggle with her kids.
It just reassured me that I made the right choice: motherhood is not for me.
Nope. Simple as that. Especially since the US made abortion illegal, if Canada follows suit then I won't have sex at all and be totally fine with that.
Men will say women have the responsibility to birth the new generation of kids, but realistically, there's more women who want to pursue that than women who don't.
It's a non issue if anything.
I don't have any and I do not want them. I am constantly harassed by family about how i'll regret it. My mom always say, who will take care of me and my partner when we are old. That's definitely the dumbest reason to have kids.
Yeah, my family do want me to have children but I don't think they care how many. For me, most of the pressure comes from the current demographic outlook of the world lol.
Demographic outlook?
Depopulation, it's mostly occurring in many countries and will start happening in the future for the rest.
As a woman, I do feel obligated to have children but I don’t give a damn. I don’t want them and I’m not having them either. I MAY adopt one or two though.
The fact that people are always hostile towards women who doesn’t want kids. Or what about The fact that there are literally laws in place forcing women to stay pregnant and the fact that those possibilities were always present even after women gained bodily autonomy rights. Republicans who are threat to women is half the population and they will always exist to harm women. It’s classic sexist tactics that have existed for centuries
@Lyrem_ Of course pro birthers agree with forcing pregnant women to stay pregnant and centuries long conditioning that will continue to reinforce pregnant outcomes even without the basic necessities that babies and pregnant women need. A lot of women may agree with history going backwards (half the population of women actually) but the other half of the population of women agree women should have bodily autonomy rights just as men naturally have and will continue to have.
Nope, I wanted to have my husband's children. Sharing that is so special between eachother. I also lo e being a mom. We have 4 and are expecting. 😊
I don’t feel obligated like i know i don’t have to ans nobody in my life is pressuring me to want to have kids, not yet anyways like i don’t have a partner. But i know i want kids eventually
No I don't. I would like to have one but I don't think I will at this rate. I'm feeling really shit today.
Yes because most men want kids. Especially, my current partner who I really like so yh feeling the pressure.
No but I've always wanted to be a mother so definitely would love 1-2 kids in my late 20s or early 30s:)
I'm from a big traditional catholic family so I get social pressure, but I also want lots of kids.
Keep your faith
No. I have 4 siblings, two of whom are married and one already has a kid. So I especially don't feel obligated in any family legacy/my parents wanting grandchildren way.
i have no pressure, I just love kids and want them willingly
I dont feel obligated, I just WANT to have children
I’d like to have kids someday but I don’t feel obligated to do it.
I want children, but no, I don’t feel pressured to do so.
I don't feel obligated but I intend to have children because I will want to.
Thankfully no! My mom knows she is going to get a granddog lol
No kids yet, but societal pressure. I'll be glad not to have them
I never wanted to be a parent. I chose not to have children. One of the best decisions I made. ✌🇨🇦
Yes. Before 2016, I thought that was an absolute requirement for womanhood.
No but my mom wants me to have one. I feel bad bc I’m her only child
No not at all, if anything I kinda forced it onto my boyfriend lol
I don't want kids I'll just fuck up at being a parent
Not really. I'm kinda disappointed for it but they're gonna be surprised if I do.
No I never felt obligated, but I’ve always wanted kids and have 3 now and want more.
No I just had kids cuz I wanted to
Nope, have no intentions of having kids either.
Nope, it's just what I want.
