For those of you who have or want children, what made you realize you wanted them?

One of the things that I think happened to me is that I switched from being a receiver to being a helper over the years. In my youth, I loved to receive things and as an adult I love to give things. Its a lot easier to give things if you have a child, you can share your love with.
