Why do women like weddings?

It seems a terrible experience to me. Lots of stress leading up to it, unnecessary expenses… and then a day of discomfort where everyone states at you like hungry dogs. Not to mention people banging on tables begging you to make out in front of them… and the receiving line where you have to awkwardly thank each and every individual for coming when you know hardly 10% of them. Wtf lol I don’t get it.

I think it has to do with status.
It's an accepted show-off and a prestigeous act to get married. It's a lot of attention and pride that goes into taking that step and it's a symbol of the promise of a start of a stable family.
Not to mention, there is a lot if designing and superficial decisions to do in setting it up, some women really like to set up a party of that magnitude.

It kind of sounds bad or negative when I re-read my OP, but I don't mean it in a bad way, just that I think many women are more into these things than I see men are.. generally.

Maybe you're not one of those women. I kind of assumed you weren't that "type" since you asked the question.

But also maybe it's just an old stereotype from the old days when marriage was a bigger thing and it was something that was hyped over.
Back then I bet it was easy to be invisible as there were no internet and being recorded on video usually had nothing to do with being seen. It's another context from what it is today.

Do you know of any women today who like weddings?
I guess, now that I think about it more.. for those women who like to attend weddings rather than be at the center of it, might be because it's a reason to dress up real fancy, if you like that type of formal thing. Might also be a good place to meet new people.. and men in the same stages as whoever getting marriage.

Because everyones attention is focused on them. The wedding is all about them. Then they also get expensive shiny things as gifts.. for a man that's like seeing Kobe Bryant versus Michael Jordan one on one while getting a bj from The hottest girl you've ever seen.

Yes the rest of them are being banged and drunk.

Like why if it was just the ceremony with a few people yay but don't invite every one you half know. 300 people don't need to be there.

I've never been he type of girl who dreams/plans her wedding and what dress/ring she prefers or in what location it's planned , I never had a thought of it growing up but I see some girls who do that and some even have lists of what do they want , I don't know why it's so important tho

Why you inviting people you dont know to your wedding lol

The day is about you and your partner becoming one. The rest are just there to witness it and celebrate the new life and thats why it should be people who you want to share this occasion with... not randoms

You're not wrong. For some people, their family expects it. For some women it's all about everyone making a big fuss of them (and often nothing about the poor guy now stuck with this high maintenance princess).

I dont even remember my wedding save for the vows part.. It was uncomfortable, Hot, annoying, tiring.. But my wife wanted it so i went through it. I have no idea.
