Ladies, did you lose interest in your husband after having a baby?

A baby is a blessing and I can't wait to have one. But to be honest everything involving the post partum is what scares me the most. I've read stories of men who felt completely neglected after their wives had a baby and wives saying they lost interest in their husbands because their priority is the baby now and not the husband anymore. What's the best way to prevent this from happening? My husband is the light of my day and I feel dep love for him but I can't control what happens after a baby is born. The fact that he's already a father to an 8yo makes me feel safe that he's more experienced than me tho.

One word: Dates.
I constantly struggle a lot with being seen as "mother robot" rather than "person", so my needs/wants tend to get thrown behind everyone else's. This is doubly the fact since I'm the stay at home parent at present.

i would never. if that happens to a couple, then i'd suspect a divorce would be on the horizon and they weren't truly meant for each other and don't know how to work as a team. it takes a lot of work to continue "dating" your spouse and a lot of people become stuck and resentful.

Well right after soreness meant sexy time was out, but after I healed and got the baby routine going I wanted him so badly to put another one inside me. It only made us closer.

It worked to. I got pregnant again pretty much after I stopped breast feeding.

Nope I got way more into my husband after we became parents. Now I can't stop having babies with him... it's addicting!

Yeah my husband is a good dad so he makes it easy. He takes care of anything that I ask so if he wants to cuddle/spend time together then it's not a big deal

Why can’t the husband and the baby both be a priority but in different ways… I don’t see why it’s suddenly a choice. The love you have for each of them would be different kinds of love so one doesn’t uproot the other they coexist, plus he is helping you bring the baby into the world so is it not a gift to both of you and a priority to both of you? That’s the way I see it currently (I am not married) and I think that’s often why the spouse is labelled a helper
