What evidence do you have that they are more successful?

Hypothetically, if compatibility is considered, it would act as a more dedicated version of a dating service, so in that respect, of course it would be more successful, in the same way a good dating site should be hypothetically.

However, if it's done for financial or resource benefits, or done to keep peace between warring factions, or to benefit the parents or a ruler, then it will be less successful than non arranged marriages.

The two people are matched by relatives who love them and know them well. Their judgment is not clouded by momentary infatuation. The couple alao tends to be from matching backgrounds that way, such as having the same religion.

now that doesn't mean parents should completely overrun their children's choices into adulthood but it's silly that people choose to disregard their parent's inputs

Because in cultures where arranged marriages are the norm, people view marriage more seriously than westerners do. Western women in particular are just shitting on marriage. They have no sense of commitment anymore. And the legal systems in the West encourage that behavior.

It depends on your definition of successful. Arranged marriages are usually in cultures where divorce are not allowed or if they are they are very rare. It does not mean the people are happy.
