i have met lots of guys through the years and i can tell you this:

The types of guys who make good husbands are the ones that don't stare at other women in your presence. Guys who always pays the bill for the date, never looks for reasons to not pay the bill and never asks to split it. Guys who easily show compassion to others and try to make things better for people regardless if it is a stranger or his mother. A guy who doesn't say insensitive things to you but then try to brush it off as a joke. Warm, caring men who values family tend to make the best husbands. Forgiving men also tend to make good husbands.

Whoa... There's a few red flags here.
Firstly, unless You are in an advanced relationship, the woman herself should suggest splitting the bill. If the man reject the idea, it's fine, but the suggestion should be made. Thus, women who take milking a man's wallet for granted are not wife material.
Secondly, men are supposed to be strong and capable of leadership, and sometimes it means being "insensitive". Also, forgiving men are simply weak men. There are some things that can never be forgiven. Thus, women who expect a man to forgive whatever they do (think cheating, throwing plates at the man, defecating into the man's bed and the like) are not wife material, and women who expect the man to be submissive and always looking to please everyone are not wife material, as well.

Women who dress like prostitutes, desperately chase after men for attention, & sleep around aren't wife material

Men who chase anything with a vag, constantly stare at other women, sleep around, etc aren't husband material

Unfortunately in American / western society these people - what were considered losers, social rejects, undesirables, etc. just 20-40 years ago - are becoming the norm.

I couldn't have put it better. It's also worth noting that those who would make great partners are regarded as losers and social rejects (and it works both ways, both men and women of true value are neglected by the society).

Not many. I feel like I know fewer good wives/husbands than the ones, who would be better off having never met their spouse. It's a weird feeling. Like if I look at it, i'd ask myself "why would I be different from them? Surely they thought the same thing".

All of them, besides a few priests and nuns who are forbidden from getting married. I don't waste my time knowing people who are twisted in such a way that would make them unfit for marriage.
