Would it be okay to ask a cousin to dance at a wedding?

At a wedding reception, you can ask anyone you want to dance. Most will readily agree to be your dance partner. There's no limitation on who you can dance with (some may turn you down but that's okay). Everyone is there to have fun and celebrate the wedding, and dancing is one way to do that.

If its a second cousin with no genetic relationship to you then I think its okay. In other words, it's okay, if your relative connection to them is only through inter-marriage and not through blood line.

Why not? It is okay to marry cousins provided they are not double cousins and that your parents were not cousins. First-generation cousin marriages are very low risk. Second and third generations cousin marriages are too high risk as are double cousin marriages.
