Wedding day Jitters! What made you the most nervous on this day?

I almost got married once... came really close actually. The girl I was with, we dated for three years. I bought her the wedding dress, ordered the wedding cake, bought the rings, which were about $5,000, but were a beautiful sterling silver (I like silver better than gold).

The day of the wedding, she ran off to Indiana to meet this guy named Matt. There I was at the church, there was a whole room full of people in the church, and I had to tell them there wasn't going to be a wedding. I haven't had a serious relationship since then. Actually, it's been a while. The last girl I was dating would take all my money, use my car while I was working. I'd get done a little after 4p. m and wait there until 6 almost every night until she got back. I think I'm done with dating.

I was nervous about getting married though, fearing her family would cause me problems, which they did. Her family used to make up stories about me. Her mother claimed I hit her with my car once, her grandmother claimed I called her an old bitch. That family was dangerous. I guess maybe I dodged a bullet!

I booked the honeymoon night hotel. We arrived late because of the weather too exhausted to do anything except pass out.

Next morning at breakfast we were one of four couples booked into the boutique hotel - and my wife was the only lady 🤦

We all laughed about it and agreed that the internet might not be the best place to get recommendations as not everything gets put in reviews. It was 20 years ago and quite a conservative area. I'm not sure who was most uncomfortable but looking back it was a great place - comfortable beds, huge rooms, awesome ocean views. It's better advertised online now 😂🤣

None of the above. I was worried he wouldn't say yes. Then, I was worried I wouldn't say yes. In the car on the way there I asked him if it would be a bad idea if we just said forget it and ran away to Mexico instead of getting married. Haha, he just laughed and said "it's too late now" and kept driving us to the wedding.

I didn't look perfect, but who cares?
Our families got along for two minutes and then never again. But, who cares?
There was no honeymoon right after, but we've traveled all over the country together many times since.
He'd already seen me naked, and we'd already had sex. He had no complaints.
Tripping never even crossed my mind.
It was an arranged marriage sort of love for me. I could easily see spending the rest of my life with him. He was handsome, very intelligent, hard working, loyal, handy, liked old fashioned things, would support me the rest of my life, and filled everything on my list. So, I knew love would grow, and it did. He said he loved me before we got married.

Funnily, he wanted us to have a big wedding with all the grandiosity.

I just wanted us to sneak into a church on a cliff by the sea somewhere and just get married there, maybe get two strangers on our way to attend our ceremony.

For some reason, I always wanted it to be just our memory.

I was not nervous about it.

That day never arrived luckily, as it finally turned out that we were not the right people for each other.

I composed a song, arranged it for a piano/choir/oboe accompaniment, and sang it to my bride at our wedding. And we did a choreographed dance at our wedding. I was a bit apprehensive about performing at the wedding and reception.

What every guy worries about. Is she really who she purports herself to be. Is she going to completely change once she gets that ring on her finger. A woman can put on an act for 10 years. If it serves her purpose... I've seen it. You never fully know who a woman is.
