Wife claims she’s an independent woman but can’t survive financially due to family demands?

My wife supports her family back home. This I have no problem with but my wife is financially broken due to demands. Because of what’s going on we can’t afford to send her daughter to university here in the UK as she is classed asa international student. This would not of been a problem if my wife had the ability to say no. I agree with supporting mum but not her sisters, kids and husbands even though they all work. Other family members also put pressure on her for money and to be honest she is financially drained. Am I wrong for refusing to pay £90,000 for tuition not including accommodation, transport and food. Now to put more pressure on us her daughter has stated she wants to return home where again she will be classed as an international student, again costing thousands more. This is all because she refuses to take a gap year. Now due to all this my wife has stated she is leaving me. This she couldn’t say to my face she had to do it via text message. Now to put the icing on the cake we have just brought my wife mother over for 4 months. The last text stated she was a independent woman that never had problems before. Well she didn’t because one aunty here in the UK used to top her up but can’t now because she’s retired.

If funny because I was the best thing since sliced bread until I said no. Now they have branded me abusive and controlling. I feel sorry for my wife as I’ve seen the vile messages she gets from her family. One particular aunt has created this problem and it’s not the first time. she did the same to her sister and her husband. But if being public enemy number one makes them feel good then I’ll be proud to wear the badge.

Thanks I’ve refused to pay anything. Things were ok until her aunty and what they call the elders got involved. I feel for my wife because I’ve seen the vile messages her family and daughter have sent to her.

Everything I own now has been put in trust so legally she can only go after the clothes on my back. I followed my legal teams advices. Costs a bit but at least my kids will have something.
