Strange... I swear I posted on this question already. Ah well...

I personally would and I'm not just saying that to be arrogant. I'm not a materialistic person and I'm faithful to the core. I treat my partners with utmost respect and kindness.

And the main thing is... I believe that similarities are what creates compatibility in the first place. Opposites only attract in the sense of man and woman, masculine and feminine, big and small, older and younger, taller and shorter, dominant and submissive, etc. You get it.

Whereas if you have similarities in terms of views (less conflict created from differences in opinions and more respect from each other), interests (you'll like doing a lot of activities together or talking about the same things with each other), sense of humor (you'll laugh at the same things and be more funny to each other), way of thinking (you'll always be on the same wavelength and similarly to views, there will be less conflict and more respect), same destination you're heading for in life (if you see yourself living in Fiji with your partner with 4 kids and your partner shares that vision, that's a definite win), sexual compatibility (you'll want the same things in bed... if the guy is dominant and wants to spank, choke, tie up, and gag his partner and the girl is submissive and wants all of that done to her, that's a huge plus for compatibility), etc.

I believe most people desire someone that's just like them, but just different in the sense of the opposite factors I mentioned and that usually comes with being a guy and girl.

I'm not sure. I'm a very loyal person. I think if I took the time to get to know me then yeah. At first glance? Probably not. But I think that's why most longterm relationships don't happen. Most people never even discover who that person is. So people pass on good matches and accept bad matches because on the surface they seem better. We as a society really do not use our head as much as we should when it comes to partnerships.

No way, and here's why: I don't see anyone as perfectly balanced alone. We need community, family, friends, mentors... lots of people to be part of our lives and support our growth. It's not that we can't be alone, it's that we are wired for connection to be mentally healthy.

That being said, I know I need someone to be a balancing influence, just as I would be a balancing influence for them. I'd have lots of fun dating "myself", but it would be out of balance. I'd compete against them, I'd work myself to death keeping up with them, I'd never slow down and relax. Basically, I would die young.

I need a steady, stabilizing, somewhat extroverted counterpart; I can have enough fun and great ideas for both of us. :D Just like someone steady needs some spice in their life to keep them awake... :D

So no. And I don’t necessarily believe in marriage. But no I wouldn’t date myself. Until I can get into the best shape of my life. To were I can run for at least 2 miles without stopping.

I want the version of myself that can run from danger for extended periods of time. That’s how I’ll know I’m healthy, and in shape
