Polygamy is a combined term, you mean polygyny. Polyandry is practiced mostly Tibetans, Polygyny is practiced Muslims, there is like 1.9 billion Muslims in the world, so no comparison, make sense, as a woman is much more likely to share than a man, and men are also stronger than women, also Polyandry is based on Partible Paternity belief, which is Scientifically not true.

Polyandry is practiced more often then not in the world. And here is why, people have been using it to introduced desired genes in their children. It is like selective breeding where couples decide to include genes like white, blue eyes, tall height in their children by using sperms to make it happen or using Eggs from girls of desired genes. It has happened and it has become more common with nuclear families where dilemma is less to use these
