Is marriage important to you? Why or why not?

I've often heard marriage being considered the ultimate commitment, or if you don't have a ring in so many years to leave a guy. I've known women who have called it quits with men they still want to be with because they don't have any intention on marrying anyone and another who has been driving herself mad because her boyfriend of five years won't propose. I myself don't see why it's such a big deal and so I'm curious about other views on marriage and it's importance to others.

I'm happy without marriage.

If you love each other so much for the long haul, then you surely don't need external approval or a certificate and the uncaring daddy government knowing about it and using this information against you.

I'm not judging those, who do. I don't see a point in it and I'm saying this as a woman in a man's body. Is marriage to women like sex is to men? You can get married only so much.

I believe in marriage (good ones) and have always wanted to have a marriage like my parents have, but I have turned against the idea after seeing so much in recent years that turned me off as a man. So many men in my life have had their lives turned upside down when their wives divorced them. The problem is not marriage itself, but rather divorce. Half of marriages end in divorce, women file 80% of them, and men get screwed in divorce court and child custody.

Marriage today is not the same as it used to be, and today's women are not like women of the past. They lack commitment. I don't think most women go into a marriage thinking they will divorce, but they clearly don't take the wedding vows seriously.

So like most men today, I'm out. It's no longer worth the risk.

Well commitments important. A lot of girls will stay with a guy who won't commit only to have him leave and commit to someone else. Can you imagine how much that would hurt, another woman who your ex deemed better than you and worthy of marraige walking down the isle with the man you love, having your wedding, having kids that should have been yours, sleeping with him at night, in the house you could have lived and so on.

Imagine after all that time wasting you are about to turn 40 and you've no husband and no kids and the sands of the hour glass are rapidly running out all because you wasted years on the wrong man.

I married the wrong man and wasted years of my life and had to accept that in his eyes I was always the second place to the one that got away. Marriage doesn't protect against them leaving or time wasting from experience.

Yeah, I don't think I would ever live with a girl again unless I got married first.

But then I don't think I will ever get married as its so perilous as a bloke, but then again I would have more kids even though I got stung on my last one, took 3 years after the relationship finished to see her again and lost contact with step son. Broke me for years, still has lol. But it's all settled now at least.

So I hope that one day I find love, trust and courage again, then become stupid enough to get married, have kids and get my ass kicked all over again 🤣💪☠️

Marriage wasn't important to me when I was young. Now, It's extremely important to me bcoz I am single, lonely, depressed and frustrated 🥴. Most of my friends are married and have kids. My friends are busy with their work, wife and kids. I need a shoulder to 😭 cry on.
