No she wasn’t financially in a hole. She has been doing this for 7 years now, where all I get is balloons and a cake. When her birthday comes I’m always going out my way to take her to broadways and fancy restaurants. For our wedding, I practically paid the whole wedding by myself because I knew she couldn’t afford it and was going through a medical patch. 10,000$ was spent on that day (micro wedding) I never told her in the past how cake and balloons wasn’t enough for my bday or even my thing. I mean I’m 34 for crying out loud. Also I don’t eat cake- I just don’t like it and she knows that. On top of that, for this years birthday I told her what I wanted and she still didn’t make any effort and I feel disappointed. 😔 I don’t know what to do.

Maybe on her birthday just do cake and a balloons maybe she is doing for you what birthdays mean to her so when she has ideas thinking of what your doing this year and how cool of a place or plan to find out your just doing cake and balloons and maybe she will take the hint

I payed for her dress, nails, venue, decorations, the list goes on. I’m a women so it took a lot of over time for me to pay everything on me own. I’m also a full time student in college currently working on my bachelors degree. So I’m always doing literally everything. Is not to complain because tbh I’m not superficial. She could of went to a dollar tree or 5 and below and filled up a basket with self care items and I would been happy
