Two of my guy friends who are like brothers to me are in new relationships and are in love. They're considering proposing next year. If they get married, what sorts of wedding gifts do you give people nowadays? Most of my closest friends are single and unlikely to get married, so I don't actually know what people in their thirties or forties would want. Money in a card?

Wallets, neck ties, cologne.
if you know any of their hobbies you can also focus on getting things within those like say video games or sports y know things they may actually use.
Funny you should say that, they're both outdoors, sporty people.
Should I get something for the wife, too? something pretty perhaps, like a nice piece of jewellery?
so maybe gift cards to sporting goods stores in their areas might be good.
yeah I'm sure she would appreciate that
I am absolutely hanging out for them to get married. Anyone who makes them so happy that they're glowing and in frequent good spirits makes me happy.
you seem super nice and empathetic. :)
thank you. I try. Sometimes I get overly involved in an annoying sisterly way. I had to pull myself up when I gave some advice today (we all give each other advice); but I might've overdone it. But yes, I'm totally onboard with this.
