At earlier age you are likely to be impulsive and not think it through but at older stages you are less likely to find someone to commit to (maybe because you are too impulsive)

If I found the right person, I wouldn't have any regrets. I've never had any desire to date around to find out what I like. All of my attention is towards finding my wife.

I say the earlier, the better. Assuming, of course, that you know who you are, what you need, and what you want in life. You're also less set in your ways and more open to growth and change.

you can't ever be safe from eventually regretting it. but i think late 20s is the best "start". i wouldn't do it earlier than that.
