Parents driving my date and I to Prom, cool or no?

Okay so I'm 18 and I don't have my license (Canadian). I'm going to Prom in 3 weeks, but I don't have a ride. All the limos are booked for that weekend and I don't want to intrude on another couple by hitching a ride with them. Would it be weird for the girl if I had my father drive us to Prom?
I like the girl and I don't want to seem weak by not providing her with better. Also it kinda seems lame getting a ride with a parent, I don't know if that's just me or if that's a thing.

Someone needs to drive. It's more about you when you step out of the car than it is about them. You don't have to pull up in a limo, pull up in a flashy rental car instead. Ask your dad if he wouldn't mind renting a new BMW, Audi, Infiniti or whatever.

Some people won't mind car pooling with other couples. Try that option. If that doesn't work then it's really ok to let your parents drive you or an older sibling.

I mean in all honesty I think its kinda lame.. id just ask to ride with another couple im sure they wouldn't mind especially if they're your friends

God forbid she docks you a point for that dude. Just try asking another couple. Better yet, friends, maybe another group that's going. Honestly, some guys may want to split the cost anyway.

My mom rented a nice car and drove my date and I to prom... the venue was over an hr away from the school and I didn't have my license yet!

It was just fine. It's a common "guy mistake" to think you have to work so damn hard to woo a girl. :-P
