Is it wrong for a married man to give a gift to a single woman?

Is it wrong for a married man to give a gift to a single woman he works with (no matter the price tag of the gift she received)? Please explain why he would do that? Please help!

Yes, it suggests he thinks she's open to suggestion. This is pretty nervy in a work situation especially. and puts the woman in a difficult spot..she has to tell him to get lost unless she likes taking risks.

The gift was not an expensive one but it was weird considering the fact that just a few days before he was telling me that his wife did not have any interest in what he does, she is never around, etc. Thanks for your answer.

Ah for sure he is fishing for a relationship. REally bad form especially in a work situation.

STay VERY clear of him unless you are open to a really dangerous situation...he's out of line doing this of course, but I wouldn't make a big deal of it just yet.

depends on the gift that was received. and the occasion. is it a professional gift? or a personal one?

It was a personal gift. It is not anything that I could be used in a work environment. (Not meaning anything sexual)
