Is a watch a good gift for a boyfriend? Gift ideas?

I've been dating him for only over 4 months, so I guess I don't know him and his taste that well. He doesn't seem to care much about watches (since he wears fake cheap ones) but thought it would be nice if I got him a good one (affordable though, like a Citizen).

What do you think?
Do you have any other suggestions?

My boyfriend works on the computer all day so I bought a lot of little desk stuff like his favorite character in a movie (groot) (god it's so adorable) and a sort of laptop desk with a ventilation system and blabla.

I feel like watches is something you would give to anyone? Not to demean it but it's not personal?

Maybe even just a date to a spa or somewhere, and you pay for it?

A watch is a very good gift. But I would say it should be in like a one year anniversary or something. Not in a relationship of 4 months. To me it's too early. But yeah a lot of guys like this gift

They are good gifts but are you sure you want to spend that much on a watch? I would take that money and buy something else with it - like a lap top or leather case.

Watches are the things I would collect for a wardrobe. Watches and cufflinks.

Those seem quite expensive for citizen, try investigating Rotary, maybe look into some quirkier ideas, maybe a Skelton watch?

It's a good gift. watch and cologne are best when you don't know what he'll like. Or if he need something like a new bag or wallet or something but he's too lazy to buy it himself.

I gave my boyfriend a watch for our 1 year. He got me a promise ring. For Christmas I got him a hand carved wooden chess set and he got me a Polaroid camera. It’s not the value of the gift it the thought that counts

guess that depends on if he is on time if not he might take it as a dig to him being late. If he is then a watch is always a good gift for anyone

It is like a bracelet nowadays when everybody got smartphones.
If somebody gifted me a watch, that should at least do something besides showing time to prevent from being left to a shelf

Maybe it's an age thing, but watches are good.

Smartphones take longer to check, be taken out of a pocket, the screen turned on and the time read, whilst ignoring everything else on the screen. A watch you just twist your wrist.

A watch let's you show abit of yourself to the world, something that is a lot easier to put a stamp on. How many people have the exact same phone?
