I suggest a variation of the nike free flyknit line. Depending whether he prefers runners or trainers. They are the most comfortable, light and long lasting shoes I have owned so far and I have purchased dozens of shoes in this price range between $150-$300

A lot of neutral colors blacks, whites, navy, gray and other colors like that
