What shoes do you like a guy to wear?

Question

One of my guy friends asked me this and I didn't really know how to answer. "The first thing a girl supposedly looks at is a guys shoes. So what shoes do girls like a guy to wear?" 
I told him I'd think about it. Now I would like you guys to do my thinking for me hehe. 

I guess he means like casually with jeans and a nice shirt. What do you girls like? Post pictures if you can. Thanks :)

I've always said shoes make the man as a silly joke but it's true. I like a guy with good shoes. Sporty, professional, casual, doesn't matter. They don't have to be expensive or really nice but a man should always present himself just as a woman should. I miss when everyone used to dress up just to leave the house. Not to impress another but to know they look & feel their best in any situation. Looks definitely are not everything but not even trying can be unattractive.

converse or just regular sneakers like nice looking nikes not clunky weird ones. I wouldn't not date a guy if he wore them, but sandals like flipflops usually don't look good on guys in my opinion. maybe it's just me and my dislike of toes?

My guys a good dresser, but I have no idea what brand of shoes he wears for dressup.
At school, he's a professor, he's all jeans and casual with those Docksides or whatever.

Brown wingtips are really in right now for a more dressed up look: Suede shoes can be pretty casual based on the color you buy: I personally like a dark navy or tan color it goes with anything And for boots I'd got with desert boots:

He could be pulling your leg. But if he serious. It would depend on if he is wearing casual tennis shoes should be good. Unless your dress up dress shoes should be appropriate. Then again if he on a date at the beach Sandals or flip flops would be the best thing.

Chukkas, dress boots, monk straps, loafers, wingtip bluchers, and various styles in suede. Also can get away with some non-dress boots.

Basically, leather shoes. Depending on subculture and personal style, some guys can also pull off converse, but I think the older you get, the less you can do that.

I wear different shoes depending on what I'm doing. If I'm just gonna hang out with some friends with no thought of chatting up some ladies I'll just wear my lunarglide 6.
If I gotta dress up I'll be wearing my dress shoes
Heavy/dirty work I'll be wearing my timberlands
