I am not sure what the term full Karen means, as I don't keep up with terms like that... but if it means complaining due to bad service... Then yeah.
However I want to note, I'm always respectful, I don't attack people for something the business did. No point in getting personal for something beyond their control.
One example is, I made a loan payment at the bank in a drop box... and six months later when I was reviewing my payments I noticed one did not show up. I got all my checks, figured out which one it was, and took the cleared check into the credit union and politely pointed out they applied my payment to some other loan.
I did have to waste a entire day and miss work, cause of their mistake but they eventually tracked it down. It had been applied to the wrong loan, and dinged my credit for a missed payment. They fixed it all by removing late fees and extra interest and all that.
I had to dispute the late payment with the credit bureau though, and eventually it got removed, but it took several months.
I tend to have horrible service no matter where I go, very nice guy... I rarely complain or say anything even when there is a issue. It has to be pretty big to say something. I generally won't say a thing and will just post a million reviews about it later, maybe I'll email them or call them to politely discuss it later. Not sure why I have it so bad, but everyone else I talk to will say "I don't have that kind of service there." nerdy guy standing around just waiting must tick them off.
Any business that doesn't care about service or reviews, tends to not stick around for long... it may take many years but eventually they are gone. Anyone remember Kmart or Sears? too big to fail... right. No business is too big to fail if they do bad service enough... and it cost a 1000 times more to get someone back than to just keep them.
I will say the one time I kind of did lose it, was the only person in a check out line at a grocery store, on my lunch break... and lady in front was done checking out but knew the checker so they were chatting, just talking. Shooting the wind about what you been up to, blah blah blah... I did finally say after listening to them talk for 12 minutes ( I timed it) that if I could be checked out, no one was behind me... then they could continue to chat. I was told that is NOT how it works, once she leaves the check out stand she HAS to leave the store, she cannot wait for me to quickly pay for my 3 items and then go back to chatting. I asked why and she told me I just don't get it... that I'd never understand.
It usually means making a huge scene over a perceived transgression on the part of the worker.
I see, I'm pretty shy so last thing I want is to be the center of attention from a scene. I'm more likely to send a message from their website later, do some bad reviews, call and ask to speak to the manager, than even ask for one in person.
As I know how it goes, when I did a phone center job when I was younger, people would call and yell at me, even though I had nothing to do with their issue... call me names, personally insulting me. I try to avoid personally insulting someone directly. Chances are, if I am complaining about something they probably agree with me and can't get their own boss to care.
Thanks for the info on that though... hate to have the name Karen if that is the term for it these days... lol.
I've taken on a manager for giving a member of staff who was helping me a hard time.
I'm a relatively new amputee, not been a year yet. I went to a supermarket a few weeks ago where the "ten items or less" till was the ONLY wheelchair accessible till in the store. The others it's physically impossible to get a chair through.
The young girl on the till took my trolley through, helped me unpack it onto the belt, scanned it through, bagged it up and put it back into the trolley. I was incredibly grateful. As I was leaving the store I heard the manager - a child who had the personality of a pile of 💩 - start to tear into the girl for putting through a large trolley load on the express till.
I turned the chair around, rolled up behind him and waited for him to turn around. Of course, as he did he tripped over the foot rest of the wheelchair. Sadly he didn't land on his face, but he wheeled round, beetroot faced and ready to start shouting. I beat him to it, starting with "I'm SO glad I've finally managed to get your attention..."
His big mistake was to draw himself up to look down at me. I stood up onto my remaining leg and at his full height he had to look up to meet my eyes.
I don't remember exactly what I said. I remember using the phrase" napoleon complex" and asking what he was compensating for in his behaviour towards a member of his staff who was helping a disabled customer.
Long story (I'm bored, eh): 2020 sucked. My mom was getting depressed not seeing family and friends, so I made it my goal come hell or high water, to give her the best birthday party I could given Covid restrictions. My mom loves the show Downton Abbey, so I decided to plan this elaborate English Afternoon Tea service for her and her sisters who would all be in masks and wearing gloves and all that. Anyway, the vintage tea set I wanted was going to cost me an insane $400 on Ebay for all the pieces I needed to pull this off. That wasn't going to work, but I spent MONTHS looking in thrift stores for pieces and had lucked into finding a few in the thrift, some online, but I was still missing plates until one day there they were in the thrift. I could have cried, I was so happy to be done with this f***n search!
I ran straight to the register only for the clerk to tell me she can't sell it to me because it's part of a set and I would need to buy the whole set. I was like, I will gladly buy the whole set if you will point out where the other pieces are because I've looked. She starts telling me no, she can't do it. No I can't buy it. At this point, the birthday was in 2 weeks, so I had no time. Finally she's like, go to the back for a price from the warehouse. I do, and the lady in the back immediatley gets an attitude after I pointed to the clerk in front who told me to go back there. Now this lady in the back is telling me she can't give me a price, it belongs to a set and is marching me to the front again.
Now I'm pissed. I'm like, I'm not trying to cheat you----show me the other pieces, and I will buy them too!!! So pissed lady stomps over to the shelves and none of them can find any other parts of the set so I'm like see! Then another clerk tells me, it's still a no sale (and starts speaking bad about me in Spanish to her co-workers. THIS was the final straw. I saw actual red and proceeded to go off first in English...and then I went off in Spanish which is kind of amazing because although I can understand some Spanish, I hate speaking it, but my brain was losing its mierda, and from the looks on their shocked faces, it had quite the effect b/c looking at me, no one would ever think I knew Spanish. Finally (the ultimate Karen goal!) the manager came up front, and because I am literally there every week, he says its okay, its okay (like he was trying to sooth a rabid dog), and gives me a price, and hell yeah, my mom had the best friggin' Afternoon Tea give me my got damned plates you bastards birthday party of her life! Achievement Unlocked!
Well, sounds like you had a legit cause to be upset.
No😂😂😂
I had a karen not at a business but outside my roommates parents house accused me and my roommate of being up to no good because we didn't belong in this neighborhood.
Umm I'm sorry she was visiting her parents for their birthday crazy lady and we were talking in there yard.
She literally threatened to call the police on us as she was tresspassing in her parents lawn.
Her dad came out and said you have 3 seconds to get off my lawn and stop harassing my daughter before i call the police on you.
geez some people just take it too far lol
Oh yeah. I got lots of stories of karens that loved bothering me. Especially when me and my teammates are just having fun.

KAREN STORY INCOMING.
I have unleashed my Karen self only once at the bank. I was right though.
I went to open a bank account. The bank employee made a mistake in regards to my Surname and my father's name.
They didn't even let me check out the details before I signed, they told me other people were in hurry and that I should be fast to sign the papers, they were incredibly rude, I didn't have the time to check if everything was alright.
I left the bank and a couple of days later, I noticed that they made mistakes in my Surname and my father's name. So I went to the bank which was the closest to me.
The person who worked there told me that I should go to the same bank where they made the mistake and he pointed me to the door. I told him "no, I won't" and I asked him if they have the same database. He told me "Of course we do, but I cannot be responsible for my colleagues mistakes".
I told him I cannot go to the same bank since it is hours away, it is inconvenient to me and they are supposed to be a chain. I also told him that the bank should have allowed me to take some moments to check my details.
I also told him "What if I came from another city to stay here, would you still point me out to the first bank I gave my details?" I was furious but I didn't say anything rude. He talked to his manager and his manager told him I was right and gave him permission to change my details.
Not full Karen, but I did get pissed off at eBay Customer Service because they have sh*tty cybersecurity AND sh*tty customer service, and they always would lock me out of my account through bots, every time I logged in. I wasn't furious at the CS rep, and let her know that, but I was furious at how sh*tty eBay's customer service is, and the bots, and how all I wanted to do was buy a phone case.
There was another story when I tried to order something at a convenience store. The person working there said that they don't sell such things, simply because she didn't know how to ring it up on the register. She 100% insisted she was right; adamant about it, even though I knew she wasn't. I asked to speak to her manager. I explained the situation, and even showed the manager how to ring it up on the register. The manager said I was correct, and then brought it up on the register herself, with the employee watching behind her. I paid and looked at the cashier, with a "Are you going to apologize?" face. She didn't, of course. I didn't make a scene or anything; I just wanted my stuff. I can't stand it when someone is both ignorant and adamant about not being so. So I had to get a higher up in that case (who barely knew what was up either, but at least was nice about it and willing to admit she was wrong).
Those are the only two moments I can think of.
I went off on a Ticketmaster dude on the phone once because their website crashed, denying me tickets, and there was no effort to help me. And on two occasions I unloaded on bank employees because they suddenly started charging me fees due to new and stupid terms. Then I closed the bank account and went to a bank that didn't charge fees. I regret none of it. If you don't complain, you will be taken advantage of by dirty assholes. Sure, it's not always fair to the employees but they should leave and work for better companies that aren't corrupt. :)
welll you can still get all that done without the "unloading" part... if that means you yelled or made a big scene about it?
Meh. None would be considered a "scene". The ticket dude was on the phone. And the bank was empty and nearly empty with the two bank ladies. The first one got all nervous looking when I expressed displeasure and agreed that I shouldn't be charged the fee and on another day, the other lady forgave the fee and said that starting the next month, I would be charged. I just said it was stupid because I'm just gonna go home and close the account online and she shrugged her shoulders and told me to have a nice day. And that was that. If banks wanna lose my business, fine. But since then I have noticed that many fees are going away because of competition. Don't let greedy bastards own you. Let them know they suck and you have other options. It's the only way things will improve.
I still find it disturbing how today there is a derogatory term for demanding service be worth payment. When I was growing up I was taught that you had to actually earn your paycheck when you worked at a job by, you know, actually doing the promised service they requested when they paid.
And if you take my money, and your product or service is faulty, and you don't refund me? well have fun dealing with the American Arbitration Association and their guaranteed $900 filing fee that costs way more than just refunding me. :)
well there is a more polite way of handling it then what "karens" do. frankly i'd just not go their again if i could.
I am always polite, and it takes a decent chunk of money spent for me to resort to this, but if they give me shit about a refund, I tell them ok, I'll just call the AAA and have them file a complaint, instantly THEY say "hold on lemmi get my manager", because they know if they cause the company a charge higher than the refund by refusing a refund, they will get fired. So I don't have to make a scene or be rude on the phone or in a store, I just have to know their weakness.
myself no. but i recently witnessed a woman go off over a spot in line and she cut in front of a 70 year old guy then got all up in his face, cursing, chest bumping was loud as all hell for zero reason but acted like he was wrong? then she looked at me and i was ready for it, but seeing a kid there i decided not to say anything horrible, when she said and whats your problem? i said nothing at all, i just thank God everyday i am not a lesbian so I dont have to tolerate/deal with woman like you. she didn't know what to say so she left the store while others laughed.
I've never gone full "Karen" but I was with someone who did. She is black and very sensitive about racial issues. We sat down at a restaurant, ordered, and waited for our food. All of a sudden she got up and started screaming. The waitress and manager came over to see what was wrong. My friend said we ordered our food before that table over there but they got their food first. Which was true. She thought they delayed our food service because she was black. She stormed out of the restaurant.
To me, going "Karen" means raising an issue that is not necessary or dragging something out of proportion. I've never done that. Only twice have I ever asked for a manager, and both times was only because the waitress took our drink orders, waited literally 45 minutes before completing our order and was rude (both times the same worker). I did not make a scene, but I did request the manager. The first time I assumed she was having a bad day and brushed it off with just simply asking the manager to check on her and make sure she was ok. The second time she did the same thing. I got the manager (different manager) and let her know the waitress has done this twice now. The waitress got fired on the spot and decided to dump cold water on my crotch and called me a chauvinistic pig. I did yell at her at the top of my lungs then (I'm prior military so this got very loud) and cussed her out.
I wasted a whole morning getting my wife's car fixed. When I drove it away it promptly stalled out in the parking lot. It was obvious they just moved it from one place to the other and gave me a big bill for it.
I got angry and slammed the door open it made such a noise that everyone in the place turned to see what it was. The service manager came out and I totally reamed him out. He pulled two mechanics off of whatever they were doing. They tore the carburetor apart and went at the intake with a wire wheel and cleaned out all the crap. 45 minutes later it was all fixed.
No I’m a huge go with the flow kinda girl so it’s hard to make enemies. If they don’t have something I want it’s not a problem I’ll get something else. If they give me attitude I make them feel stupid by not acknowledging the attitude while staying very sweet and saying thank you so much.
awesome. i dig your approach
Only a couple of times.
Once or twice with asshole bankers who 100% deserve it for a laundry list of reasons.
Once when a gardener said my job was to small to bother with before even giving a quote.
Another time when an "all you can eat" sushi place with tiny servings gave everyone tablets to order on that lock every 2 min and you have to get a lazy server to unlock. That shit was a straight up scam.
Oh and when a pizza dude threatened to kill me after I refused to give him a 40% tip and told him to get some change. Retard said he doesn't carry cash because I'm in a "bad neighborhood" with almost no crime and 500000$ houses. Told his boss about his little con game.
In general though just don't fuck with me and I won't fuck with you, simple as that. I'm just done putting up with people's bullshit unless I absolutely have to.
Of course. I pulled in a convient store and had to park a bit a ways out. No biggie. But this dude in a truck was backing out like his truck was on empty (very, very slowly!). I walked in front of his truck as he started going forward. He yells out the window at me, "so you're more important than everyone else?". That just set me off. Minding my own biz and got some nitwit hiding in his truck. Mouthing off. He was a big man hiding in his truck. I know where he lives because the moron actually told me his address. Ill give it a bit, he may figure it out, but f it, the state im in is full of morons that know everything about nothing, and nothing about everything. He'll get his
I may have unleashed my inner Karen on the unemployment folks when their service was abysmal. Lol. I try not to though.
maybe unleash her in the bedroom instead ;)
🤣 That sounds so unsexy for some reason. Karen’s are so annoying. Lol
"lick my pussy or ill call your manager!"
Lmao 🤣
"no not that way! that way!" >;(
I’m the opposite of bossy in bed. 🤣
The way Kate Gosslin emasculated Jon I’m sure she took charge in the bedroom.
yeah lol maybe it could be a type of femdom of sorts :P
I’m sure it is. Not me at all lol
Screw Karen I went Ape Shit on people before for bad service, being rude, food wasn't cooked properly, wrong order, item not there when I arrive after making arrangements, the list goes on and on ✌️
you gave them a taste of their own medicine huh? :P
Yes a whole cup of instant asshole 🤣
I wouldn’t mind a cup of that from you ;)
Virtual hugs anytime 🤗
virtual butt hugs though? hmm ;P
You've got it
thanks. feels lovely lol :P
No, I'm usually pretty chill but good lord I have seen my wife go full on Karen and im just looking at the person with the most sympathetic eyes I can muster.
yeah i kinda got that impression from that other question of yours lol. just a tad
Lmao I'm proud of her though she did good today. We put an order in for food and have been sitting out here for like 30 min. She just went in and discovered our food had just been sitting there getting cold because the new girl got confused by curbside vs pickup.
She kept her calm although I know she was fuming. I am proud of her.
😊
Yes I have, but for good reason.. I've met some really obnoxious guys in my life so I may have went into Karen mode a few times, in particular in grocery stores.. I'm not exactly proud of it but yeah...
were they trying to grab at your or something?
Ah juveniles... you probably had an attitude first.
Wanna bet @dudeinohio?
Lol no, I’m the type of person who will order an orange juice, receive an apple juice and just smile or something dumb like that and accept the fact I got apple juice😂😂
Lol awesome.
Hey can you give me a follow? Pwease? :)
Lol sure
Thanks 🙏
Not full Karen... but one time I was at a restaurant and I realized there was Hair in My food and an old sugar packet from someone else in my cup (I was given dirty dishes to eat from).
I just took photos and posted them online and complained a little to my server. I try not to be a Karen because that doesn't usually work and people working in establishments have it hard enough already.
The *only* time I have gone "full Karen" and it was justified was when my cousin hired a lawyer to represent them for a traffic ticket. It was during COVID and the lawyer / his legal aide miscommunicated so nobody attended the virtual court for her and thus she was charged by default. I phoned them up & raged on the phone if they can't represent her might as well have hired a public defender
Nah, I don't have the balls for that lol
If something really bothered me, I would only leave a yelp review 🌸
"dear internet, that taco bell sucked!"-- sincerely rosemilk
I've done it to the manager of a bank and she threatened to call the police on me which was comically ironic because that is exactly who I wanted her to call. My wallet was stolen from the ATM right outside her bank and she kept claiming she couldn't release the security camera footage to try to find out who it was.
I majorly lost my shit at her.
No, because they're not paid enough to deal with idiots.
exactly. i like how you think here
No but I’ve dealt with some. If their kid doesn’t get hired on.
not your fault those kids sucked right? lol
Yeap. One lady tried to tell me that she was friends with my boss and that if I didn’t hire her kid, she’d get me fired in minutes. Long story short, I put her on speaker with my boss who was like “I don’t know who you are ma’am, but if you keep harassing my staff, I’ll see you in court. Have a blessed day and try elsewhere.”
Nops never n i dont think it is on me to do such a thing
You can do it on me.. in bed lol
Lol..
If you have such a problem with the establishment go somewhere else. I promise you once you leave, at least in the restaurant, we are laughing at you & hoping you never come back.
I know lots of restaurants like that over the years, that are no more. In the modern age all it takes is a few bad reviews online and thousands of people won't go there. People review places all the time. If I have never been to a place, I will check reviews before I will even give it a chance, thousands of people do that. No one wants to go to a train wreck place and waste money.
On the other hand there are lots of them where the management is walking around checking with customers how things are, and correcting them on the spot. Those one's seem to stick around.
We laugh at assholes too at the store where i work. If a customer says they are never coming back... usually, we see them next week :)
@Dragonpurple if it is REASONABLE it is understandable, but if you order a medium steak & you complain about there being red in it, or if the restaurant is swamped & your want to bitch about an hour wait... Yeah, piss off.
@Dazed0N0Confused I get the whole stupid people thing, I work with people, mostly high end rich people who think they are our biggest customer. They ALL think that.
I totally get the order it medium then complain its not well done, those are idiots.
I also get the ultra busy, which is why there is a lot of places who don't get my business, I know they are too busy so I give it somewhere less busy. It is sad really when they shut down and go under, and I think, they were always swamped... wonder what went wrong. Turns out they were only swamped when I was attempting to go, not the rest of the week when I was at work and unable to go. I would never complain about wait time, you get an idea of that when you find out how long it takes to be seated.
@dudeinohio I do find that funny, never coming back then they do... that is not me. When I say never going back, I mean it... I said that about Walmart back in 1997 and I have not been to them since. I keep praying every day they go the way of Sears and Kmart and maybe one day they will... might be 50 years but they might.
Hahahaha I did it once to Amazon. I was mad at a delivery that was late by a week. And wrote to the customer support. I got a refund for the transport part, the order arrived the following day and got a free gift.
Hahahaha and actually the person that was in charge of my ticket wrote to the company saying they had acted massively irresponsible.
This expression got old a long time ago and needs to die.
And no, I have never flipped out and demanded to talk to a manager. If I don't like the service at a place, I just don't go back.
unfortunately i see this being a thing for awhile
I have been so close but then I remember how I don't want to be associated with that name or look like a damn fool in front of everyone. It is not worth it.
Too much of a hassle in my opinion to be worth it 99% of the time and I generally find it unnecessary in Japan.
No I'm not good at that. A guy I know always complains to the employees and it works for him. He gets a lot of free stuff and gets stuff done quicker etc.
No because I don’t like witnessing outbursts and certainly don’t want to be the cause of or a participant in one. I live by a few simple rules, one of which is to always talk nice to the shitheads.
Nah I always calm down before I get crazy. I have gone Karen on my son's school one time but it was for a very good reason.
No, I don't even tip poorly if I get bad service. I just don't leave an excellent tip. I try not to let things bother me. Even if they give me a cheeseburger when I clearly ordered a hamburger and I am allergic to milk. I just eat the dangerous substance in miserable silence.
No. My Mom has though, it's always super embarrassing to be around her when she does stuff like that.
No i'm not a confrontational person I like avoiding fights
Nope. I don't think I've ever complained about service anywhere.
No , not me , more of a quietly assertive , but making sure they know I mean business in a polite , but firm way. Most front line staff are not paid enough to take crap from " Karen " types.
no. in germany, that doesn't make sense anyway. i know, in america, the customer is king. not here. if you're rocking the boat, they'll just throw you out or call the cops on you xD
Karens are fun to laugh at, and seeing videos of them getting escorted off the plane in handcuffs is good too.
LOL
No, I've never done that and even if I wanted to I couldn't do it.
I'll let you know - this week I've actually got to deal with a place that charged me a good deal of money refurbishing an item and now it appears something isn't working.
Wanted to but haven't i'm British don't make a scene lol
Only once I got really pissed off, but it was well earned
Nowherr close to that. Never understood a goddamne reason to yell or let yourself get all worked up for some bullshit mistake or whatever
My girlfriend did once and it was unexpected and I just waited there and had to try to get her to leave lol
Never.. But i have thrown several Karen's out of my business, and had a few arrested for felony criminal trespassing.
Never. It doesn't fit my personality. I will just leave.
Being a { Karen } is when the Karen is wrong to start with.
I have complained a couple of times, but I can't remember ever yelling or swearing at the staff.
Somehow every woman in my family at least once a year goes full Karen 😂
last night and this morning I had to. I was forced to. Dealing with airheaded dingbats ain't easy
How the fuck do you get STUCK on an elevator? LOL!
i dunno but poor her though for being inconvenienced for a couple hours wahhh
No but lmfao for these images.
I'm not a white conservative woman, so no.
Lol nope
Never be a Karen
Yes, because i am surrounded by idiots.
Yes got to unload on this one
Everyday 😆
Haha nope.
