Long story short, in high school and a little after I was hooking up with a guy and I started to have feelings for so I started trying to get him to like me aka buy him gifts. It didn't work out because he didn't feel the same so we both moved on for a few years until recently we started hanging out again and I noticed that he still has my gift in his room. And I thought that was surprising because why would you keep a gift from a girl you had no feelings for?

There are lots of possible reasons:

1. I feel guilty when I throw out gifts. (from anybody)

2. Your friendship was important to him.

3. It was the only gift he ever got. (hopefully not true)

4. He's a pack-rat.

5. He liked you and wanted to keep it.

My suggestion if you want him to like you, find out his love language and try to speak it. (more about love languages at 5lovelanguages.com)

It sounds like yours is gifts. So after you figure out what his is, try to see if he is speaking his own language of love, to you.
