I think you're misunderstanding the situation.
You said someone. I'm going to assume it's your partner.
Men are more physical and sexual than mental and emotional.
Women are more mental and emotional than physical and sexual.
But both men and women are all these things.
With that said, assuming it's your sex partner, it's not a he or you thing. It's an us thing. So you have to appreciate the fact that your man is trying to spice things up and keep it fresh in the relationship. Be careful with not treating him well when he does this cuz he'll think that you're having an affair cuz all his attempts are not working on you. If you're not into it politely praise him for his efforts and tell him you appreciate it but that your not into it.
But if it's not a big deal, then wear it. You become what you wear. It will make you feel feminine, sexy, wanted, desired. Etc...
This is how he's looking at you. You should be glad he's looking at you this way.
There's lots of woman out there who don't respect other people's relationships, and they may be willing to wear it for him. And he'll know it. So for him to be thinking of you when he bought it, it's not a selfish thing. Nor was he just thinking about you. He was thinking about both of you.00 Reply

Well... unless they're planning on wearing it when you're not. I'd say it's a gift for you.
Yes you're overthinking it as you're all that "body confident" malarkey. But not every chick rocks lingerie, and sometimes it's a gift to make you feel special, rather than because you might look good in it.
Come to think of it, I've bought it a couple of times for girls I was dating and tended to buy a size smaller than they actually were. They were all flattered and flustered, but I would boost their ego with "but you really look that size!" and would get them a day out to get measured and the right size. It's what they mean when they say "thoughtful gifts".01 Reply
+1 yUsually it's for them.
Exceptions are if it's your bestie and she knows that you liked it (that it made you feel sexy and confident or feminine).
Inexperienced guys buy the lingerie they think she (or insert generic woman) will look hot in because they are attracted to a particular look or style.
If the same guy who thinks "now why would i want to fuck flowers that remind me of my grandma" buys the floral pink satin slip dress that's HER style, that says, here's something you'll enjoy wearing while we do the non sexy stuff like watch movies and play Mario kart on couch. Now thats a real present.00 Reply
It depends. If the lingerie is a style I mentioned to him or a brand that I like but find too expensive to buy, and he buys it for me then I can say that is a gift, cause it is what I WANT.
If the style is completely not my wardrobe and he wants that to be on me and show to him, then no, that is not a gift for me, I am the vehicle for him having a gift.00 Reply

+1 yI think it is both. I certainly like the gesture of a gift. I also enjoy lingerie for special occasions. There is also no doubt that he likes seeing it on me. I say both 100%. 😊

+1 yDepends on who gives it to me.
my man, then it is mostly for him to enjoy.
if i get it from a girlfriend or my mom or one of my daughters, it is mostly for me to enjoy wearing.
From my man, it is naught and sexy.
From anyone else, it is usually sexy and flatter to make me feel better about my mom body.10 ReplyIts for you , to wear as a reward for them..
You not going to pick up a " lacey stunner " that you like , without the outcome in mind , may just make you feel good about yourself too , so its a combination of both , and a reward combination , with removal being the key.00 Replyits for them... they buy what they want to see you in not what you want lol.
i have done this before in the past. mainly as i wanted them to wear something that i liked. dont get me wrong, if shopping together, i would buy 2 sets, one that they liked and one that i liked lol00 ReplyBoth, the real gift in in the compliment or statement of desire you are making to the lady... and yes of course you are looking to get some benefit from that.
Honestly, guys do not buy lingerie for a lady unless they are strongly attracted to her... so it is a compliment and most guys would hope it would bring pleasure her as an express of your desire, passion and hopefully love for the happiness she provides.00 Reply
+1 yWell it’s a bit of both, but I can totally agree that it’s more for the one giving the lingerie as a gift because that will be what they want to see their partner wearing - and in truth, I have done this in the past 😂 but I think it’s also important to know your partners ‘style’ so that they will be happy and comfortable wearing the lingerie - even if it’s just for a ‘special occasion’.
00 ReplyJust depends on what type of girl she is , if she likes dressing sexy then she would more than likely appreciate the gift , if she isn’t into lingerie then she might be pissed lol , but all in all it’s mainly for him to see her wear , he is basically saying I want to see you in this with hopes of having sex with you in it ,

+1 yI never really understood it. Like, why get something she'd wear for a short time before taking it off? Most of that shit is really uncomfortable and my wife doesn't like wearing it, which makes it not sexy, and kind of defeats the whole purpose. Sexual beauty should be a natural thing. Its hard to get hard if she's not feeling it or i feel she's trying too hard.
10 ReplyWhen I buy someone lingerie it’s for both of us. They get a new outfit, I get to see them wear it. Same thing if I receive the lingerie from someone else, I get to wear it and they get to see it. When I buy myself lingerie it’s for me, but it’s also nice to wear my lingerie for someone else.

+1 yNever bought lingerie for my girl, she did that on her own accord. If I was to get her one it would be because I want to see her in and because she wants it, otherwise I won't get her any if she doesn't want any.
10 ReplyGreat question, and no honey of course it's for you, why would I have any interest in such apparel, lol. I am a freak for lingerie, no not just for me I love everything about it I'm watching her dress how she looks is it when she's done the effect it has on me would definitely be for me but for her to.

+1 yThere are many ways this question can be answered but simply the whole process when done right all parties on board both parties are the beneficiaries because both are satisfied and they are being appreciated as shown by the gift.
00 ReplyIn life I'm not to selfish. But if she's not with me I will pick something she might not ever buy. But what I am dating I would rather her be there with me and then she could pick something and I would pick something

+1 yDepends largely on your mutual tastes!
Is it fantasy picturesque or functionally 'wearable'?
I see much of the 'cheesecake' on Tumblr, especially the Asian models
wearing TOTALLY impracticable get-ups that would barely permit movement~00 ReplyIt's for them. They want to see you in it. They don't give you lingerie so that you will have something comfortable to sleep in when you are alone. LOL

+1 yThe eventual outcome is for both of us but the lingerie is for his view. I tend to see it as a gift for him but I could see how it can be considered for both.

+1 yWhen my husband gifts me lingerie, I know it's because he wants to see them on me. Fortunately, he has good taste and knows what I agree looks good on me.

+1 yI've always bought my own lingerie. I buy it to look good and feel good and because I know my guy likes it, or should I say he likes taking it off. I'm sure if I asked him to buy me some because I didn't want to pay for it, he would. But ultimately, it's still for him lol.

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yIt's probably more so for him, but I do enjoy the friskiness lingerie brings to the bedroom. I also very much enjoy how excited he is when I'm wearing it and the added excitement it brings to our sex life.

+1 yWell in our case it's for us, but mostly me bc he knows how much I adore lingerie. Like it's a hobby of mine, collecting vintage lingerie. One of my favorite things to buy ☺️

+1 yIts for both. The person will wanna see you in it, but its also for your own enjoyment and empowerment
00 ReplyI thought women were the experts at giving a gift that is really more for herself than for the guy. Also, I'd never go pick lingerie for a woman
00 ReplyWhen property is transferred to you via gift then you take ownership of it. I don't see any them int hat sentence...
00 Replyits both but it also depends on the circumstance no one knows the answer except for the person giving the gift but just be happy and fuck his brains out. Life to short to Squawble over little shit like crotchless panties
00 ReplyI have bought a ton of lingerie for women that I have dated. I usually ask them what they like? but I also add in what I like... I have never had a complaint... but I also find I buy them hot pieces of lingerie

+1 yboth… even tho he might enjoy the view more, I’d be enjoying him enjoying it just as much
20 ReplyIt’s for both! And hopefully it leads to somewhere both are rewarded.

@Aakash_Hangargi how do you mean with others?

You mentioned as with John , so i jokingly asked how is it with others 🙂just kidding

When someone gives you lingerie. To show appreciation come out with it 😜🤣.
00 ReplyFor them. I don't walk at daily base in lace lingerie for myself.
00 Replyit depends on who gave it and would they see it on you or sorry OR would like to see it on you, I gave sexy top to my BGF and asked for nothing under it please.
+1 yProbably both, for you to wear and feel sexy, and for them to watch you and help take it off. ;-)
00 ReplyIt should be both. It should make you feel sexy and it's will be arousing to the person who gave it to you.
00 ReplyIt's for you to use to excite him and ultimately make your intimate times more enjoyable so it really is for both to enjoy.
There is nothing sexier than a woman in nice lingerie.00 Reply
+1 yBoth. If you really think of it as a gift for them, then you must not enjoy sex with your partner very much. In that case, your partner should leave your ass.
00 ReplyIt's 40% for the giftee and 60% for the gifter (I know you understand the NEW words😅)

It's it's from a friend, (girlfriend) then it's for you00 ReplyI hope its for you - if he wishes to wear it, there's a problem somewhere 😀

Lol!
+1 yWell, i'm not going to wear it, no matter how much you pay me🤣
It's a mutual gift. A woman can feel sexy and the guy can be her witness. 😗10 Reply
+1 yIt's for you. Because if it was for me I'd just buy some lube.

+1 yIt's for both. So you're not so gifted in the art of seduction huh?
00 ReplyIn theory it should be for both people. But sadly it could be him being pushy. Just depends on how close you two are.
00 ReplyDepends on who gives it to you. I am relatively sure when my girlfriend's mom gives her lingerie, that it's for her and not her mom.
+1 yDepends if they wanted it or not.
If I gave it to my wife who has shown no signs that she want's it, then it is kind of a d*ck move.00 ReplyBoth, especially if you like modeling / showing off to/for him.
00 ReplyThink outside the box.
It could be for the both of you.00 ReplyIt’s from him, to you for him. I like dressing my girl up. It turns me on.

00 ReplyArguably, it's for both of you but really I think it's mostly for them
00 ReplyI hate gift giving all together. It’s a pointless exercise. But good sex is a gift to both people.

Haha he think this will get him laid.00 Reply
