Gatorade replaced 32-ounce bottles with a 28-ounce version.
Kleenex reduced the amount of tissues in a small box from 65 to 60.
Folgers downsized its coffee containers from 51 ounces to 43.5 ounces.
Domino’s wings and Burger King’s nuggets have both shrunk from 10 pieces to 8.
Shrinkflation works because consumers prefer a slightly shrunken product (that most won’t even notice) over a slightly higher price. While this has been happening for years, recent inflation has increased the numbers of shrinkflation products.
