a bag of chips you bought a month ago for $5 is still $5 but now is 8 grams lighter

Nah not at least to my awareness, things I get stay the same amount. Like my monster energy drinks have been 500ML since forever.
The cheap chocolate I get is the same amount.
If I buy the pizza's I often do they are no different to how they were years ago.
Doritos have always been 180grams pretty sure, I know some other crisps have tried to go from there 150 to 140 but I don't buy those ever anyway.

So no I can't think of one thing this has happened to me with. Just prices increases which is fair because that's how inflation works, things go up price as so does wages and benefits.

haha, yes stuff been shrinking long time.

realize though, before that, Americans were "biggie sized" and we need shrunk specificlly in terms of the garbage we consume.

my solution for you is to vote appropriately and grow a garden, and budget for the thieves at the top. All this is due to govt out of control for decades, not just last 4 years, but more obvious now.

realize seniors are paying a price if they didn't plan well... have compassion for the old, the young, and the middle class, and the poor.

and up your game... cause it's just gonna get worse...

Sodas are 2.50 before they were a dollar. Disney Plus has gone up many times but is still the same thing pretty much. Just old shows not worth throwing out your VHS tapes for.

Yes, and it's been going on for years. I think it started with ice cream (a half-gallon shrinking to 1.5 quarts), but it's grown to almost everything. Most insidious is things like cake mixes - pans and recipes are all based on a particular size, but now those mixes are all smaller, so you can't make a proper cake or the right number of cupcakes or whatever, unless you buy an extra one and then you have too much.

I would much rather pay the higher price than have them shrink the amount. That kind of crap makes me want to slap people.

yeppers, I still remember the big ice cream scandal, it used to come in a half gallon container, then it was less than that, the price stayed the same and they came up with some stupid ass reason why they did that, instead of saying we will make a lot more money.
I pretty much stopped buying that, and the same with the 2 bags of air in the big chip box.

Everyday it happens to me. Some items I boycott on purpose. I try to buy the shrinkage items on sale for a fraction of the price. Why pay full price for less.

Yeah, I remember like 7 years ago when i bought a package of sugar and the package said it's 1 KG and then I put it on the scales and it came out at 900 grams.

Pretty sure that's not the only think they're shrinking insidiously.
