My SO and I rarely shop together. We have different tastes in food and we usually shop separately. When we do shop together, I usually push the trolley, as often she's way ahead of me in search of her next item.
Does the UK still rent trolleys? I recall being at an ASDA and using a pound coin to get the trolley, which I got back when I returned it. In the US, trolleys are always free.12 Reply- +1 y
No they quit that pound for a trolley thing years ago.

@purplepoppy Thanks for that. Now that I think about it, it was about 20 years ago.

I don't have a partner. But when I go with my mom, I take the buggy because I need something to do with my hands or else I feel awkward.

Risky asking questions about trolleys on here.
A lot will be triggered as they are Trolley Collectors.
That aside, going shopping I am the pusher, I get bored food shopping and even with friends they give me the trolley to push or I end up putting things like condoms and lube in random peoples trolleys. Which at the checkout is funny when the wife looks at the husband and at the lube, pensioners…20 Reply LOL, it's good that you added a picture cuz I've always thought the word "trolei" (see bellow) in my language comes from English and I assumed you were talking about pushing a trolei - until I saw the picture. I had no idea that the supermarket carts were called "trolleys". 😆
And to answer your question, I prefer doing that. Less supermarket accidents that way. My friends may have driving licenses and all but they suck at driving the cart so badly, that I prefer pushing it myself.

Trolleys are a trap. ''They'' want us to add more and more stuff without noticing how much weight we already have accumulated.
If the Missus wants a trolley - she'll push it on her own.
However - I avoid doing shopping together; that saves me from wasting a significant amount of own life-time :D10 Reply - +1 y
I do all the shopping myself. She looks at the circulars, makes a shopping list then I go do the shopping. I just can't do it when I'm hungry because then I start putting stuff in the cart that looks yummy.

I let her push it. This gives her something to lean on if she wants to rest.
