So my boyfriend's birthday is in January. And I already found what I wanna get him.

But I wasn't sure if this is way too expensive a gift to give someone. I plan to save every month a little to be able to afford it as she's his favorite author and I know he would absolutely love this. I just don't know if the price would make it weird

1. I would be wary of this being a scam. The description says "January 1, 1777" but Anne Rice was born in 1941.

2. If this is a legitimate first edition, and it has this value, then opening the book to read it would probably diminish its value.

3. Knowing what I do about your relationship, I think this is a bit too much for a birthday gift.
