Maybe I am shopping wrong?

$150 to $300 a week. Around $800 to $1000 a month. I live in areas with extremely high costs of living.
I buy some items in bulk once a month, or even in longer intervals: dry beans, rice, nutritional yeast, some condiments, powdered goats milk, spirulina, etc.
I don't always eat meat, but when I do, I only purchase the highest quality meats available to me, the same goes for cheeses. These meat products have become extremely expensive in recent times.
I also eat a lot of fruit and nuts, and those have doubled in price where I live within the last year.
Veggies have gone up about $1 per pound or 2.
I switched to shopping for produce at some "ethnic" markets, and my veggies' cost has dropped significantly, like half or less.
About the same, but at least 2-3x a week we cook at work and that's at least another $100 or more. It doesn't even matter if u go out to eat or cook. Everything is expensive now.
Probably about $400 on groceries for making food at home.
$150 - $200 for dining out and or fast food.
$70 - $100 for morning snacks and tea
$40 - $50 on random junk food while pumping gas at a station.
We're spending about 600 a month just for groceries. That doesn't include the bulk products and food for our pets. We eat out once every other week
