Should I finance or lease a car with baby on the way?

My issues with finance are having to pay all this money just for something to break down and I'd still have to spend more getting it fixed. My only issue.

My parent says because I'm having a kid I would be too messy to lease a car.

I was going to lease but my parent says not too. And if I do buy a brand new car like 2022-2023

I told them they are wrong I should do 2018-2019 we were fighting the whole time about it.

My plan was to buy the car after paying it off. I'm not spending 34 grand on a new car.

Without knowing the numbers it is hard to say which would work better.

1. Leasing can work if you do not exceed the miles and the monthly lease is not extravagant.
2. Buying new is not wise. You are going to be underwater as you drive off the lot, and that is not counting the finance charges.
3. Buying used can be wise IF you shop around and research which models are reliable.

I don't know what your situation is (income and marital status), but I would probably buy a modest but reliable USED car.

To get a car under 8 years old, most people would have to finance it. I haven't heard of dealers leasing used cars. I don't know what the current interest rates are, but an older coworker once told me that it's not good to let yourself get cash-poor. It might be better to finance it unless you would still have a pile of cash AFTER buying the car for cash.

Cars are liabilities not assets even if you pay cash for them so might as well lease and get that savings. Make sure you're not high mileage because that's what gets you. Otherwise, you'll be in a new car every 2 years and you can write it off.

There are good cars that you can get for less. You don't need to get into a big debt with a brand new car, Dave Ramsey would agree. I'm sure if you start looking you can get a good car and not brand new

I have had many anew car and even leased one out. Have to put a lot of money down to get it and car payments and it is not yours. If not going too far, You can go on FB Marketplace and get a nice used one in cash. Or a Used Car Dealer who will assist you. Don't get stuck with those car payments. The baby needs more.

I don't really understand why leasing with a kid would be messy.

But I personally prefer to lease because I can't see myself owning the same car for more than 3 years.

But I move around quite a bit. I leased my last car that i had for $250 a month. Turned it in when I was done and got some money back.

The only thing that may suck is of you drive over 12,000 a year. I was in Alaska so it's not like I drove far.

I'll be leasing another next year.

Busing walking = cheaper no insurance, car accessories, gas money, maintance fees. You can use money elsewhere.
