A former boss gave us a pair of hand blown, gilded, Venetian glass Christmas tree ornaments in the shape of a bride and groom. They have their own hand carved wooden box engraved with our names and our wedding date. They are still the two ornaments at the top of our tree below the star, 23 years later.
Aww, that is a great gift! I like those that have good thought to them and last a lifetime.
David and I asked for no gifts when we got married. My father-in-law, being the joker that he is, gave us a box with a pair of vise grips, a screwdriver with interchangeable flat and phillips head bits, a roll of duct tape, and a pair of needle-nose pliers. Funny thing is, I've used everything in the box, so at least he gave us something we could use.
A beautiful sigh in my living room that says it takes two to make a home but at least 3 to make a family.
Oh, that is so sweet. Very nice!
A couple of friends - twin sisters - gave us two little Sun and Moon charms for our wedding, the Sun in gold and the Moon in platinum. Since the Sun and Moon imagery is a strong theme for my wife and me, it was extremely symbolic that two twin souls gave them to us.
Oh wow. That sounds like a very thoughtful gift. How long have you now been married if you do not mind my asking?
Almost a year and a half, we got married in June 2021 and welcomed our firstborn daughter last July.
Oh wonderful! Congrats on your first child!
Thank you!
And maybe - I say maybe - we already have the second one on the way.
WOW! That is fantastic! I do hope you do indeed have a second miracle on the way. We am hoping to start trying after our honeymoon, next summer. No need to be waddling around while trying to enjoy a holiday.
We hope so too!
Yes, you should just focus on enjoying yourselves, just the two of you, for a while, especially during the holiday.

One of my best friends gave me two expensive beer mugs. I used to soak them in water an put them in the freezer. After they had a thin coat of ice I would pour my favorite adult beverage in it. My friend unfortunately has died so I think of him when I see these mugs.
Oh my guy would like that! Thanks for sharing!
Someone gave us a very nice Christmas tree. I still think of her every time we put it up.
That is a really nice gift that you get to use for a lifetime. Very cool!
My grandmother gave me a locket that my grandfather gave her in 1939.
That is amazing!
I'm not married but I got my friends parents some nice glasses and mugs for their wedding
That’s a great gift!!
We eloped, so nobody got us anything.
We were too broke to host a party back then.
I was a virgin so my husband gave me something I always wanted lol
Nothing LOL.. I dont believe in Gifts to show my love or expressed to me by gifts
If it's not too expensive the girls do not accept?
Not sure what you are asking/insinuating. Gifts do not need to be expensive to be a good gift. It is often the thought.
It is always the thought and meaning behind a gift that makes it special and memorable. What it costs does not. So, put thought into what you want to buy someone and they will appreciate it.
Only received money at our wedding.
A girlfriend 🤣
